Adding my thanks to your posting the letter. I had to do the same after the Reno Celebration and the Colorado Gold Summit -- and my horses and I live at an all-Parelli facility. But just wandering through the neighborhood with a Parelli logo inspires some people to spew forth defensively and derisively. I smile mysteriously as if I am the keeper of some secret wisdom, and I listen, and I am so grateful that I found Parelli around the same time I got my first horse (at age 36).

Someday Rockstar and I will be strong enough in our partnership and our skills to get out in the community and be a quiet, minding-our-own-business example of excellence. Until then I'll keep my Parelli hat on and my shields up. LOL

Thanks for sharing this letter, Edie! Wise words to deal with the transition. I was surprised to find I was reminding myself of this advice after returning home from the 3 day Parelli Celebration event in Fort Worth. Surprised by the amount of negativity around. And that's after only 3 days away.

THANK YOU for sharing your experiences! I have learned so much and have shared your BLOG with many people, including those in my Play group!

Warmly, Lauren

Thank you for sharing this letter. I am isolated from any Parelli people in my area, trying to run a Parelli Play Group to get people interested that isn't working well, and trying to stay positive regardless of the isolation. I am a SC Gold member and am ever thankful for the support. People areound my area just don't seem to get it. Several are trying to get me to a local tack and horse auction and I have polietly declined several times, finally saying that I don't like those envoronments and cannot stand to watch what goes on there. I only want to be around Parelli people but there are none to be had in these parts! *sigh* I am heading to a private lesson with Fawn Anderson in Canada (about 2 hours away) in a few weeks, this may be the best break I get for a while. Good luck in Normalsville, it can be an ugly place.

Naturally yours,
